Rare 1900 era iron cast Salute Cannon. Specifications: weight 13 pounds, carriage 14 X 7 inches, barrel length 13 1/4 inches, bore .054 inch (about 3/8 inch), Muzzle
100% original and functional. Spring loaded “penny toy” cannon. Paint is original as well.
One of the earliest of these small cap guns. Made completely of tin including the base. All 100% original and functional. The base is made of tin as well.
Yes it is broken. Typical of these cannons I think. Original Kenton, although not marked, RMT 12 gauge blank cannon. Other than the break of the breech door, the cannon is in remarkable original shape. The patina is perfect. There is not previous repair attempt. The hammer is present and is complete with original spring although weak. No sear or other locking device. Original axle pins, not replaced with screws like so many. Firing pin present and is frozen. Great project for the expert. A little more for shipping as I like to double box and protect these toys due to their weights.
